WHAT????

Okay so today's blog is going to be about leg position...but, what the heck is this?? Why does this just seem like a horrible idea? It wraps around the waist, straps to the saddle, and you put your hands through the loops. May I ask what happens it the horse acts up? Do you really want to be strapped on if a horse gets stung, or if he trips and falls? I personally would rather take the fall than have to go through that. (For those that want to know this is the Sit Strap)

Back on the subject of bad leg positioning, let's talk chair seat. The best way for me to describe chair seat is: When your sitting in a chair, your legs are in front of you and when you take the chair away you fall. But when your legs are under you, you can stay upright. It's the same with riding.
Imagine a chair under this guy. Now imagine the chair sliding out from under him. Would he stay up?
See what I mean?

Ergg...

Sorry for my absence, my blogger account hasn't been working. And now it's not letting me ad pictures to my posts so I won't be doing any critiques today. So I'm just going to talk. Did you know that my horse Dexter (he's a morgan. Registered name:KHF Emerald and Gold) dosen't have ergots? I guess he's just evolved. Has anyone else heard of horses without ergots? Well, I'm going to try to figure out how to fix Blogger. If I some how do, I'll either post tonight or tomorrow. I Promise!!

Getting Started

Well...this blog is about the good riders that deserve praise...and the ones that don't. Since this is my first post I'm going to go easy.

I like this rider. Her eyes and chin are up, her arms form a 90 degree angle with her body. Her ear, hip, and heel form a straight line. Her legs are completely off her horse. On top of that I really like her suit, I'm not sure if you can see it in that picture but its black with a silver windowpane print. Unlike most eq riders she is on the incorrect diagonal on her victory pass like she should be.

I know, I know, this guy isn't riding equitation, but he is a good example of poor equitation. He is hunched over, his heels are actually UP *gasps*. But come on, heels down is basic eq.
